Google Search Console Indexing Checklist

Every new page on capture1st.com live and ready to rank. Here's exactly how to submit the sitemap, request indexing on the high-priority pages, and monitor results over the first 30 days.

Current Site Status: Ready to Index

The sitemap is live at capture1st.com/sitemap.xml and serves HTTP 200. It contains 39 URLs covering the home page, all 20 service pages, 8 industry-specific lead pages, 5 problem/pillar pages, 4 comparison pages, and 12 blog posts. The 301 redirects for old URLs are in place. Follow the steps below to get them all indexed and ranking.

1. Submit your sitemap.xml to Google Search Console

  1. 1Sign in at search.google.com/search-console using your Google account.
  2. 2Make sure your property is verified for https://capture1st.com (use the Domain property type — it covers www and non-www).
  3. 3In the left sidebar, click 'Sitemaps'.
  4. 4In the 'Add a new sitemap' field, enter: sitemap.xml (Google prepends your domain automatically).
  5. 5Click Submit. Google will show the sitemap as 'Submitted' and begin processing it.
  6. 6Refresh after a few hours — status should move to 'Success' with a count of discovered URLs.
  7. 7Your sitemap URL: https://capture1st.com/sitemap.xml (39 URLs total — home, 20 service pages, 8 industry pages, 5 pillar pages, 4 comparison pages, 12 blog posts).

2. Use URL Inspection to request indexing on priority pages

  1. 1In GSC, paste a page URL into the top 'URL Inspection' search bar.
  2. 2Wait for the inspection to complete. If it says 'URL is not on Google', click 'Request Indexing'.
  3. 3Google will queue the URL for crawling. Most get crawled within a few days.
  4. 4Repeat for each high-priority URL on the list below.
  5. 5Note: GSC throttles Request Indexing to ~10 URLs/day for a single property, so prioritize the top 10.

3. Priority pages for manual indexing (in order)

  1. 1Tier 1 (request first): /website-design, /local-seo, /lead-generation, /google-maps-seo, /google-business-profile
  2. 2Tier 2 (request next): /local-service-ads, /marketing-automation, /missed-call-text-back, /ai-receptionist, /crm-for-local-business
  3. 3Tier 3 (sitemap will handle): /business-automation, /review-management, /website-chatbot, /crm-automation, /ai-seo
  4. 4Industry pages: /hvac-leads, /electrician-leads, /plumbing-leads, /roofing-leads (sitemap covers these — request if you want faster indexing)
  5. 5Pillar & comparison pages: /missing-calls, /not-ranking-google, /competitor-outranking-me (sitemap covers)
  6. 6Blog: /blog + all 12 post URLs (sitemap covers — the blog is updated weekly so Google will learn to crawl it frequently)
  7. 7Audit: /free-local-business-audit (high-conversion page — request this one too)

4. Check if old 404 pages have been de-indexed

  1. 1In GSC, check 'Pages' under the Index report. Look at the 'Not indexed' / 'Excluded' section.
  2. 2Search for the old slugs: /who-we-serve, /8-marketing-mistakes-small-businesses-make, and any removed URLs.
  3. 3If they still appear in the index, use URL Inspection on each and click 'Request Indexing' is NOT needed — instead, they will drop as Google recrawls and sees the 301 redirect.
  4. 4The 301 redirects already point them to the correct new URLs. Confirm with: curl -sI https://capture1st.com/who-we-serve — you should see 301 and a Location header.
  5. 5To speed up de-indexing, paste the old URL into URL Inspection and check the 'Last crawl' date. Old URLs typically de-index within 2-4 weeks of consistent 301s.
  6. 6Optional: submit a temporary removal in GSC if an old URL is showing and you need it gone immediately (lasts 6 months).

5. What to monitor in GSC over the first 30 days

  1. 1Week 1: Check 'Sitemaps' report — confirm 'Success' status and that URL count matches your sitemap (39 URLs).
  2. 2Week 1-2: Watch 'Pages' report — new URLs should move from 'Discovered' to 'Crawled' to 'Indexed'.
  3. 3Week 2-3: Check 'Performance' report — impressions and clicks should start appearing for your target keywords.
  4. 4Week 3-4: Review 'Search results' queries — look for 'HVAC leads', 'plumber near me' intent terms, 'local SEO', 'missed call text back'.
  5. 5Ongoing: Check 'Coverage' for any 'Excluded' errors — fix any 'Crawled but not indexed' URLs by improving internal links to them.
  6. 6Ongoing: Monitor 'Core Web Vitals' — all pages should pass LCP, FID, and CLS thresholds. Fast mobile load is already built in.
  7. 7Day 30: Compare total indexed URLs to sitemap count. Target: 35+ of 39 indexed within 30 days. Any gap means re-request those URLs.
